Philharmonic Orchestra


Philharmonic Orchestra performs 2016 Spring Concert.

Formed in 2012, the Philharmonic Orchestra,  is a strings only developmental ensemble performing beginner and/or intermediate orchestral arrangements. It averages a membership of 20 students. Audition opportunities for students take place in May, August and January every season. Students rehearse once a week on Sunday afternoons from 2-4 pm at the Fain Fine Arts building at Midwestern State University.

Gina Menden is the current conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra.

    Everyone is welcome to a spring performance of both the YSO's Philharmonic and Symphonic Orchestras at 4 pm in MSU's beautiful Akin Auditorium. The free performance will also feature small strings ensembles. Enjoy a wide range of music from Tchaikovsky to Copland to Pirate of the Caribbean!
