Description: The Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra is hiring a Suzuki violin teacher for a community music academy. The academy works in collaboration with area schools to provide K-5 students with strings instruction during the school day on elementary campuses. Each student receives a weekly private lesson that the parent attends and a weekly group class.
Duties: Full-time, 5 days instruction per week. Teach and organize private and group Suzuki lessons in elementary schools. Teachers will be expected to attend recitals/rehearsals and special events that relate to the Academy. School year: August-May.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education or Violin Performance and registered Suzuki training.
Salary: Base salary $35,525 (based on nine-month commitment).
Additional information: Successful applicant will also be offered strings coaching position with the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Other opportunities exist locally for performance jobs and private studio teaching.
Start Date: 8/1/22
Position will close by March 15.
