Suzuki Violin Teacher (Daytime School Program)
Description: The Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra is hiring a Suzuki violin teacher for our Gail Key Academy of Music (GKAM). The Academy works in collaboration with area schools to provide K-5 students with fully subsidized Suzuki strings instruction during the school day on elementary campuses. Each student receives one 30-minute private lesson and group class every week throughout the school year.
Duties: Schedule, organize, and teach private and group Suzuki lessons in assigned elementary schools for up to 40 students. Availability: Monday-Friday as needed during school hours. Size and assign instruments, and assist in rental fee collection. Teachers will be expected to plan and execute end-of-semester student recitals, collaborate with other program instructors in a year-end combined GKAM concert, and may be required to participate in any additional mid-semester or school related musical performances. Attend recitals/rehearsals and special events related to GKAM and its promotion.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education or Violin or Viola Performance. Registered Suzuki training preferred (will compensate for foundational Suzuki Teacher Training).
Salary: $38,000 for 2025-26 school year. Relocation stipend negotiable.

The Wichita Falls community is in need of string teachers, creating great potential to establish a private studio outside the hours of this GKAM position. Our community is also home to the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, so performing with the symphony may be an option, pending a successful audition.
